A Note From Farmer Jen

When I think of home, I think of the rolling hills and trees of West Virginia, the little Oklahoma farm that raised my mom and her siblings, my father’s Texan drawl, his pint-sized, pistol of a mother—my Grandma Exie—and her famous Sweet Potato Pie.

My Uncle Robert decided to plant sweet potatoes on our little family farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. And well, I didn’t have to look far for inspiration on how to use them. Farmer Jen’s Sweet Potato Pie is now available for purchase online, and, just to keep the good vibes rolling, proceeds from every purchase will be donated to Save the Children—a non-profit organization helping kids get a healthier start, for a healthier, happier tomorrow.

Any way you slice it—from adapting Grandma Exie’s recipe (she is scratching her halo, wondering how it tastes so good without adding sugar!), to pulling sweet potatoes out of the ground with my Uncle Robert, to seeing the beautiful work Save the Children does helping kids right here in the United States—Farmer Jen’s Sweet Potato Pie gives me the warm, fuzzy feeling of home.

I hope your family loves it as much as I do.

Love,
Jen xxx

One potato, two potato, sweet potato pie!

Farmer Jen's Sweet Potato Pie

We’ve harvested sweet potatoes from Jennifer’s family farm for our new Farmer Jen’s Sweet Potato Pie blend! An homage to Jennifer’s favorite family recipe, we’re blending savory sweet potatoes with silky coconut milk, sweet dates and a touch of vanilla for a pie in a pouch perfect for little palates!

Save the Children

Once Upon a Farm is proud to partner with Save the Children – an organization dedicated to helping kids get a healthy start, for a happier, healthier tomorrow. Plus, for every Farmer Jen’s Sweet Potato Pie, purchased, $0.25 will be donated to Save the Children (up to $50,000.00).

Meet Our Resident Moo-ers

Say hello to some of our favorite farmers: Simon, Boaz, Pete, May Apple, Pig Nut and Mistletoe.

Simon, Boaz, and Pete were named by Jen's kids, while May Apple, Pig Nut, and Mistletoe are named after native plants that grow on the farm.

These furry friends aren't only cute, they also play a vital role in our farm's biodynamic processes!
